Hair is the crown of glory for each one of us; and we go to extra lengths (literally) to take good care of our hair.
An occasional hair treatment, hair cut is inevitable to maintain your pretty mane of tresses.
Choosing a hair salon can be a little stressful though; especially if you are an amateur like me:)
Last year, I have decided to switch to a good hair salon from my normal hairstylist shop to try out a different hairstyle and also professional care for my mane.
I was cruising around Gurney Plaza (as I was in Penang) and I stumbled upon this Jantzen Hair Salon located on the 3rd floor; next to the Food Loft.
I was there last year for my hair treatment for the first time and then it left my hair in pretty good shape. It reduced the hair loss significantly although they only did a simple hair treatment.
This year, I tried another salon in Gurney (which I shall blog about it later) and they used much higher-end products and treatments; and it left my hair in a mess.
I decided to go back to Jantzen, which surprisingly seemed rather vacant most of the time.
I walked to the counter to a bunch of young girls who immediately got to their feet to answer my questions; in a very polite and friendly manner.
I was rather pleased and decided I wanted to do my hair treatment for a second time there.
The hair-stylist (a guy who was really really quiet and serious) came to me and gave a hair a good look; asking about my concerns and whether haircut is needed.
I explained to him and he beckoned to another young guy; to start with shampooing my hair and he will be around later.
The shampoo boy was another friendly guy who started up a rather chatty conversation with me and telling me about the techniques of washing hair.
He did a rather great job at the shampooing, layering my hair with the mask and treatment.
If I am not mistaken, they recommended a hair spa+ dehydration treatment for my hair.
I felt rather relaxed after the treatment and a few minutes under that rotating heating-tool when the hair-stylist came and started snipping away those extra lengths.
He then proceeded to blow and style my hair and I kinda liked the end results.
The price was definitely more pricey than normal hair salons in shophouses; but I liked the end results, service and their attitude.
I think I may have found the right hair salon for me in Penang.
Plus point: They won't push you into buying their products!!
